About Us

Queen Elizabeth School is an English speaking centre, situated in the Arturo Soria area in Madrid. Our school is divided into Preschool and Infants. We use English as the sole teaching language at the school.

The Toddler and Pre nursery classes follow an Early Years Programme. The material is presented in a fun dynamic manner using puppets, DVD’s, art and music to reinforce learning. The children are in an exceptional stage of their lives where they can acquire fluency, vocabulary, and learn to express themselves in English with the same ease as when speaking in their mother tongue.

All the children at the school over three years of age follow the English National Curriculum. We offer a broad, balanced curriculum through which we aim to challenge the child intellectually and to encourage independent thought.

The class timetables are divided into daily language, math, science, art, P.E and music classes. The programme is adapted to the cognitive development of the child's age group. Each topic is taught at a different level, increasing in scope as the child gets older and the comprehension skills become more mature.

The curriculum is enriched by the introduction of poetry, works of art and music from a variety of classical and modern sources. The preschool programme has been extremely successful: We prepare the children so well for entry into the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum that the parents themselves lobbied for the school to grow with their children to encompass the infants stage . This success in early learning led to the creation of the Queen Elizabeth Infants School.
