All the children at the school over three years of age follow the English National Curriculum. We offer a broad, balanced curriculum through which we aim to challenge the child intellectually and to encourage independent thought. Active participation in lessons for example through discussion, practical activities or role play, is considered important to the child's progress. The Nursery, Reception and Year one Classes meet with all the requirements of the British Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. In this curriculum, there are six main areas of learning:
Children aged 5-7 follow the Key Stage 1 of the British National Curriculum, which offers ten varied subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Design and Technology, Information Technology, History, Geography, Art and Design, Music, Physical Education
PHYSICAL EDUCATION - MUSIC AND MOVEMENT CLASSES. Our pupils receive P.E and music and movement classes during the scholastic timetable, which are taught by our PE and Music teacher at the school. These classes are an important part of the curriculum and help the children to learn how to coordinate their fine and gross motor skills. We have a gym at the school, and specialized music and gym equipment for the different age groups.
SWIMMING: Children from the age of 2 onwards attend swimming lessons during their school timetable once a week. Swimming is part of our P.E curriculum and it is conducted by qualified professionals in the local swimming pool.
